Will Abhishek or Ranbir replace SRK in Rajkumar Hirani’s film?

Shahrukh Khan has once again proved that he is the king at the box-office after he received good reviews for his film Om Shanti Om. However recently SRK has also turned down quite a few films. He first turned down South director Shankar’s film Robot after creative differences cropped up between them and recently he even turned down Rajkumar Hirani’s film due to differences between producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and himself. Now Hirani is supposedly considering Abhishek Bachchan and even Ranbir Kapoor for his film which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Someone.
SRK and Rajkumar Hirani were keen to work with each other; however a war of words had taken place between SRK and producer of Hirani’s film Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Hence SRK decided to opt out of Hirani’s film. But this has left Hirani extremely worried as he could not continue with the Munnabhai series as Sanjay Dutt is currently in custody and now he was having problems getting a hero for his next film. However many actors in bollywood are keen to work with Hirani after his Munnabhai success. Abhishek Bachchan as well Hrithik Roshan has sent feelers that they would be interested in working with the director.

Some sources claim that after seeing the promos of Saawariya, Hirani was very impressed with Ranbir’s work and decided to sign him up for his next film. So is SRK’s loss, Ranbir’s gain? Well that remains to be seen, as Ranbir refuses to confirm anything just yet. Despite the fact that Ranbir’s first film Saawariya did not do too well at the box-office, he has been appreciated for his work. But other sources claim that Ranbir is not the main lead in Hirani’s film, but is simply one of the actors in the film. It is being said that Hirani is considering Abhishek Bachchan for the lead role in the film. Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor too denies that Ranbir will be doing Rajkumar Hirani’s film. Ranbir Kapoor has also apparently already been cast in a Yash Raj film where he will be seen romancing three to four heroines on-screen.
