I’m weeping and Salman is just laughing, Katrina Kaif

Former lovers Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif share a great bond even after their break-up and the actress has always maintained that Salman holds a special place in her life. During a recent interview with Filmfare editor Jitesh Pillai, the ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ actress shared an anecdote from her initial days when she thought Salman was nasty.

Katrina, who made her Bollywood debut with box-office disaster ‘Boom’, was actually offered ‘Saaya’, but was chucked out. And when a weeping Katrina came before Salman, he started to laugh at her. The 33-year-old actress narrated the incident while describing how Salman has been her pillar of strength and has a lot of faith in her.

“He (Salman) always had a lot of belief in me. I was to be a part of the movie 'Saaya'. Anurag Basu was the director, John Abraham was the hero and I was cast in the film. I was called one night for a shot. It was a silent shot, that too I was playing a ghost. It was a passing shot. After shooting for two days, I was told I am chucked out. When I left the room, I started crying, I was bawling my eyes out," Katrina said.

She added, “Sometime in the day, I met Salman and I'm weeping, and he's just laughing. I started to think he's so mean. I'm thinking my career is over and I've been chucked out from my first film and it's the end of my life and he's laughing? He finally gave in and calmed me down saying, you don't understand, this doesn't mean anything. I know where you're going to go from here, these things happen, I don't have an answer but these things happen, you'll see. Just keep your focus and work hard.”

Salman and Katrina will be next seen together in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which is slated to release around Christmas. In the meantime, Salman is gearing up for the release of ‘Tubelight’ on June 23, while Katrina will be seen in musical adventure ‘Jagga Jasoos’ opposite ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor when the movie hits theatres on July 14.
