When rape convicted Ram Rahim was approached for ‘Bigg Boss 9’

Self-proclaimed godman turned actor Ram Rahim was convicted of raping two women followers in 2002. He has been arrested and will be sentenced on Monday. He has been moved to a jail in Ambala. As soon as court announced the verdict, violence erupts and many people including media persons were injured.

More than a lakh of Ram Rahim's followers had congregated in Panchkula and created commotion. The police fired in the air, and used tear gas and water cannons to control the mob.

Ram Rahim, who starred in two movies, ‘Messenger of God’ (MSG) and its sequel, ‘MSG2’ was once approached for the popular reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’.

The Dera Saccha Sauda leader once confirmed that ‘Bigg Boss’ makers have indeed approached him, but he has put forth certain conditions to enter the show.

“Yes, I've been approached to appear on the show. But I asked them if they allow me to exit the house for 2-3 hours every day to meet my followers then I can think for it. Still nothing is finalised,” the Dera chief said.

CBI judge Jagdeep Singh found Dera Sacha Sauda guilty of rape. A minimum of seven years in jail will be awarded to him but the quantum of penalty will be announced on Monday.

“We have made adequate arrangements for the post-verdict situation. Whatever is court’s verdict, we shall implement the court procedure. We are ready to deal with any kind of situation. I appeal to the people to maintain peace and harmony”, said Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar.

Assuming the violence ahead of the court’s verdict, government and administration had taken  necessary actions.

Trains and bus services have been cancelled. Schools and colleges are closed. Paramilitary forces are deployed around the CBI court in Panchkula.
