Watch Trailer: ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’

The ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ team is back with their sequel. In the first part, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were seen together after their outing in “Apne”. Since the first part performed well at the box office, they were tempted to go for the second one. On Thursday, the team held the theatrical launch of the film.

It only made sense for the makers to do this as sequels have now become a norm. Dharmendra went on to add, “People like a film, it becomes a brand and they accept it. We have made a good film. When you will watch it, you will feel that it is better than the first one. Only my character and Sunny and Bobby's character are the same, everything else is new.” Dharmendra was also heard saying that they will make the third part to it as well, and he just hopes that people like the series.

The film also marks the entry of the younger Deol in the film industry. Sunny Deol’s son and Dharmendra’s grandson, Karan Deol, has worked as an assistant director in this film.

At the launch of the film’s first look, Sunny Deol was heard saying, “He is young and is learning and enjoying the experience. He has assisted for this film. He will come here (in film acting) next year...he will join the industry next year.”

Karan Deol and Bobby Deol have also given their voice for a song that will be choreographed by Remo D’souza and picturised on the three Deols.

At the same time, Sunny’s wife and Karan’s mother, Linda Deol has also made her Bollywood debut by writing a few portions of the film. She apparently gave the ideas to the writing team. The story line was mainly her idea, about being based in UK, and the recession that hit the country.

The first film by the same name was directed by Samir Karnik, whereas the sequal is directed by Sangeeth Sivan and produced by Dharmendra. The director was quoted as saying, “I've worked with Sunny Deol in ZOR and Bobby Deol in EK - THE POWER OF ONE. My real challenge was to work with this legendary actor, Dharmendra. And am glad I got this opportunity to work with all the three Deols.”

Apart from the three Deols, the film also features Neha Sharma, Kristina Akheeva, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Annu Kapoor. The film will release on 7th June 2013.
