‘Raees’ trailer: A mean-looking SRK with killer dialogues

The much-awaited trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ has been finally released. The official Twitter handle of the crime dram tweeted the YouTube link of the trailer at 12 pm on Wednesday, and within a couple of hours, it has already got 269,299 hits, and counting.

‘Raees’ is based on a true story idea of Ahmedabad-based don Abdul Latif who ran the illicit liquor business in Gujarat during the peak of Prohibition in the 1980s. Shah Rukh plays the titular role of bootlegger. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays a police officer, is after him to end the crime.

The trailer opens with a dialogue by Shah Rukh saying that all kinds of business – big or small, is good as his mother says so. Then Nawazuddin’s character warns him that it is not business but crime. There are thousands of liquor bottles kept on a yard and Nawaz is seen crushing them with a road-roller.

There are also romantic moments between Shah Rukh and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who plays his love interest in the movie. They are seen dancing and riding on a bike and the scenes are lovely. All the three major characters get screen time in the trailer and leave an impact. Shah Rukh with his beard and heavy kohl-lined eyes looks very mean. There is also a glimpse of Atul Kulkarni and Sunny Leone, who has performed a special item to the classic number ‘Laila Main Laila’ from ‘Qurbani’ film. The music of the song plays in the background.

‘Raees’ has been directed by Rahul Dholakia and co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

The highly-anticipated movie is set to hit theatres a day ahead of Republic Day on January 25.
