Vivek Oberoi might contest in 2024 Lok Sabha polls from Vadodara

Vivek Obeori, who essayed the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the biopic ‘PM Narendra Modi’ reveals his plans of joining politics. In an interactive session with students of Parul University Vivek said that he might think of contesting from Vadodara in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls if he joins politics.

"If I join politics, I might think of contesting from Vadodara in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections just because of the love and affection people gave PM Narendra Modi when he contested from here," Oberoi said when asked about his political aspiration.

He told the students that to step into PM’s character, he observed PM Modi’s body language and his way of talking. He claimed it took 16 days to finalise his look for the film.

"It is an inspiring film about a man who has become Prime Minister of the country and one of the world's biggest leaders without any backing or caste politics," he said.

The release of the biopic ‘PM Narendra Modi’ helmed by Omung Kumar was pushed behind and now the film will see the light of the day on April 11.

He told ANI, “We wanted to release the film on April 5 but some people put us in so many difficulties that we couldn't do it. We are working hard to get the film released on April 11, we have to go to the Supreme Court on Monday.”

He also said, “There are very powerful people who have approached courts through their lawyers. They can obstruct us briefly but they won't be able to stop us. The release might have been postponed but we are firm in our resolve.”

"'PM Narendra Modi' is officially releasing on April 11, 2019," tweeted producer Sandip Ssingh.

Oberoi also tweeted: "Thank you to each and every one of you for your blessings, love and support. Thank you to the Indian judiciary. We hope you like the film and that it inspires you all! Jai Hind."
