Vishal Bharadwaj looking for a fresh face to cast in ‘Rangoon’?

Industry grapevine has it that filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is looking for a fresh face to cast as a second lead in his ambitious historical film ‘Rangoon’. ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are already on board for the lead roles.

"Though the main cast has been locked, he is still looking for a girl who can play the second lead in the film. Many aspirants are being auditioned daily, but he is yet to find someone suitable,” a Mid-day report quoted a source as saying.

“He does not want someone gorgeous, but an ordinary looking girl. She will have a powerful character," added the source.

Vishal who won the National Award six times, was not available for comment, reported the tabloid.

‘Rangoon’ is a romantic musical film set against the backdrop of World War II (1939-45) when the British Army fought against Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army in erstwhile Burma (Myanmar), the capital of which was then called Rangoon. The film is set to go on floors by the end of this year.
