Veteran comedian Razzak Khan passes away

Veteran Bollywood comedian Razzak Khan, seen in movies like ‘Hello Brother’, ‘Hungama’, and ‘Hera Pheri’ among others, passed away on Wednesday morning (June 1) at a Mumbai hospital.

Razzak suffered a massive heart attack at 12. 30 am and was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Bandra where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. The actor’s son Azad Khan, who works in Croatia, has been informed. His mortal remains will be cremated tomorrow at the Narialwadi Kabristan at Byculla.

The popular comic actor made his debut with ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ in1993. He has starred in over 90 films in his career span, including ‘Baadshah’, ‘Joru Ka Gulam’, ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ and many others.

Razzak was one of those actors in the industry who even in the smallest of small roles managed to bring a smile to the faces of the audience and made his presence felt. He always had the quirkiest names to himself in films – like Babu Bisleri, Ninja Chacha, Munna Mobile and Lucky Chikna to name a few. 

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta expressed his grief over the actor’s sad demise and tweeted, “Sad to hear about passing away of Razzak Khan. His finest performance in 'Dubai Return' with @irrfan_k unfortunately remains in the cans.”
