Veteran actress Rita Bhaduri dies at 62

Noted actress Rita Bhaduri, who acted in various telly soaps as well as in Bollywood movies left for the heavenly abode on Tuesday morning. She was 62.

Actor Shishir Sharma took to his official Facebook account to share the news of her demise. 

"We deeply regret to inform you that Reeta Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond. The funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East. Extremely sad.. lost a wonderful human being .. a mother to many of us.. will miss u Ma..." the Facebook post read.

Rita Bhaduri was suffering from kidney ailment for quite sometime and had been undergoing dialysis every alternate day. For the past 10 days, the actress was in a hospital. 

She will be cremated today at 12 in the noon. Currently, her body lies at her brother Barun Mukherjee's house for last respects. Her niece Mini said, "Well, Ritaji had developed several complications. Her kidneys had failed since some time and more recently, she had a spine surgery done. After that, she developed many complications and her other internal organs started deteriorating. The last one month was tough."

She was last seen in Star Bharat's popular TV show ‘Nimki Mukhiya’ where she enacted the role of Imarti Devi.

With a career spanning over five decades, Rita played important roles in movies like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Kya Kehna, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon. She also featured in Gujarati movies.

She also starred in various television soaps like Hasratein, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Khichdi, Ek Nayi Pehchaan, Amanat, Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka and Kumkum.
