Veteran actor Dilip Kumar admitted to Lilavati hospital

Yesteryear actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Lilavati hospital following cough and cold. He was under doctor supervision and his condition is not serious. For the last three days, the thespian was suffering from cough and cold and on Saturday, he was taken to Lilavati hospital.

"He has been taken to Lilavati as he has cold and cough for past two-three days. He might be in hospital for a routine check-up for a few days but there is nothing to worry about," the source said.

"Dilip Kumar has been admitted for pneumonia. He is suffering from cough and cold. We have put him on antibiotic treatment. He is not in ICU," Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital told PTI.

Known as the Tragedy King of Hindi film industry, Dilip Kumar debuted with ‘Jwar Bhata’ in 1944 produced by Bombay Talkies.

The veteran actor who will turn 92 in couple of days was hospitalised in September last year after suffering a mild heart attack.

 “He is stable and just requires supportive treatment,” the spokesperson said.
