Veteran actor Dharmendra rushed to Nanavati hospital


Bollywood’s yesteryear's actor Dharmendra was rushed to Mumbai Nanavati hospital last night after the actor complained of stomach ache. Upon investigation, he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. The doctors of the hospital assured that the 81-year-old actor is stable now and will be discharged in a day or two.

For the past few days, he has been suffering from a stomach infection and last night the pain aggravated. He was immediately put on antibiotic treatment and after which his condition stabilized.

“He responded well to the treatment and the infection has subsided. Looking at his health conditions, we believe he will not need longer hospitalisation,” said Dr Vishesh Agarwal, MD (medicine), NSSH. The doctors added that the star will be kept under observation for 48 hours and will be discharged only after he recovers well.

In May last year, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai after he sustained shoulder injuries on the film set. He had to undergone surgery for the hurt.

His two sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, were by his side in the hospital.
