After 3 years of marriage, Veena Malik divorces husband Asad Bashir
Pakistani starlet Veena Malik finally ends her three years old marriage with Dubai based businessman Asad Bashir Khan. The family court in Lahore accepted Veena’s ‘khula’ (divorce) application, which she filed in January. She was living separately from Asad for the past three months.
Since the divorce was filed by Veena, she has to return the 25 per cent of the ‘haq mehr’ (dowry money) to Mr Khatak. The court had summoned Asad Bashir Khan, but he neither appeared nor filed a reply. Veena Malik was the one who filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and saying that they could not live together.
Veena Malik's divorce plea was accepted and the estranged couple was granted divorce. 'The court accepted Veena's plea and issued a decree last month validating divorce between the couple,' a court official told PTI.
Veena Malika and Asad Khattak got married in December 2013 in Dubai and were blessed with two children, Abram (2) and Amal (1).
After marriage, Veena bade goodbye to the entertainment world but it is learnt that she wants to rejoin showbiz against her husband’s choice. Asad wants Veena to take care of their home and children.
Veena came into limelight in India for she took part in the reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’. She also starred in Bollywood films like ‘Zindagi 50-50 ‘and ‘Super Model’ and Kannada film ‘Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga’. Veena Malik made headlines in the past for her nude appearance, sudden marriage announcement, for naming her son AbRam after Shahrukh Khan’s son and she shocked everyone by her sudden divorce declaration.
