Veena Malik Becomes Mother of a Baby Boy

Veena Malik, the controversial Pakistani model-actress has given birth to a bonny baby boy in the USA. The delivery took place at Virginia Hospital Center in Washington DC. Asad Bashir, the husband of Veena broke the news on Twitter and posted the photo of the baby. He posted, “Thank you Allah Pak 4 blessing us wth a lovely son Abram Khan Khattak. @iVeenaKhan thx 4 giving me biggest happiness.”

Later he told the media, “She is doing pretty well. We are happy that we are here. She is trying to sleep. We have named him Abram. It is the name of Shah Rukh Khan’s son as well. In Hebrew and Arabic, it is Ibrahim." Veena herself posted a tweet saying, "Alhumdullilah we are blessed with a Baby Boy @iAbramKhan... cute son of Proud father @Asadbashirr."

The newborn already has a profile on Twitter and even has 17 followers. Veena told the media that she is feeling well but is too exhausted to talk in detail right now. Veena married Asad Bashir Khan, a businessman in December last year in a ceremony in Dubai. The marriage took everyone by surprise as it was a sudden decision. At that time Asad had claimed the decision was taken to fulfill the wish of their parents who wanted them to get married soon.

Veena Malik first gained prominence in India after appearing in the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. Her closeness with fellow participant Ashmit Patel became a hot topic for gossip. The exposure from ‘Bigg Boss’ helped her to land some roles in Bollywood and South Indian films. But she failed to secure any big banner project.

Veena Malik also kicked up controversy over a semi nude photo shoot for the cover of FHM India. In the photo she had ISI, the initials of Pakistan’s intelligence wing, tattooed on her arm. She was also accused by a Muslim cleric for immoral activity due to her actions in ‘Bigg Boss’.

Her sudden marriage was seen by some as an escape route from controversy. Veena herself later said that she wants to forget her past and concentrate on her married life. But earlier this year in March she created controversy again by posting on Twitter, “India Sucks!” She was reacting to an incident of a foreign student getting molested and robbed in Delhi by auto-drivers. Many people accused her of badmouthing the country that helped her to earn fame. Now it will be interesting to see whether she keeps up her controversial behavior post motherhood.
