Varun Dhawan, Nargis Fakhri's luxury car seized by RTO

Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan, Ileana D’cruz and Nargis Fakhri had to face an uncomfortable situation in Indore when the luxury cars they were travelling in were seized en route by the Regional Transport Authority (RTO) on Wednesday, March 26.

Reportedly the incident took place, when the trio arrived in the city for the promotion of their upcoming film ‘Main Tera Hero’.

According to media reports, RTO inspector Yogendra Rana said the cars had not been registered in spite of the fact that they were being used for quite some time.

Since both the BMWs were seized, Varun and his co-stars had to travel in another car. The intercepted cars belonged to a local car dealer. RTO released the cars after the dealer paid Rs 7 lakh towards the pending taxes.

Rana also said that RTO recently seized a Land Rover SUV on a drive and had released it after realising tax worth Rs 6 lakh.

‘Main Tera Hero’ is an upcoming romantic action-comedy film, directed by David Dhawan. The film features Varun Dhawan, Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri in the lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on April 4. It is a remake of Telugu movie ‘Kandireega’.

Varun Dhawan made his debut with Karan Johar’s romantic-comedy ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012, which was a box-office hit. The actor received the Filmfare nomination for Best Debut for the role.

Before beginning his career in acting, Varun worked as an assistant director to Karan Johar on his 2010 film, ‘My Name Is Khan’.

Ileana D’Cruz is an actress, who mainly appeared in Telugu movies. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South for the 2006 Telugu film ‘Devadasu’. She made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s hit film ‘Barfi!’ for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Some of the Telugu films that she has acted in are: Devadasu, Khatarnak, Rakhi, Munna, Aata, Jalsa and the list continues. She has also appeared in Kannada films.

Nargis Fakhri is an American model-turned-actress. She has appeared on America’s Next Top Model show and made her Bollywood debut with the musical-romantic drama ‘Rockstar’ in 2011 directed by Imtiaz Ali. She then appeared as a war correspondent in the 2013 political thriller ‘Madras Café’.

Besides acting, Nargis is on the Board of Advisors for the MindShare Ventures Group, a New York City-based company that deals with fashion, technology, healthcare, real estate and entertainment among others.
