Varun Dhawan begins ‘Judwaa 2’ shoot with a Ganpati song

Varun Dhawan has kick-started the shooting for ‘Judwaa 2’, starring Jaqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu opposite him. The film went on floors on Friday. The film is being directed by Varun’s dad David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

Sajid’s mother Shafaqat Nadiadwala gave the first clap for the movie along with her grandsons Subhan and Sufyan. The producer’s wife Wardha shared pictures on social media by tweeting, “And so it Kickstarts #Judwaa2 #SufyanNadiadwala #ShafaatNadiadwala #SubhanKhanNadiadwala @NGEMovies 'a clap teamneed your love now..”

The shooting began on a devotional note with an energetic Ganpati song. Varun, who is already a great dancer, had reportedly, rehearsed for the number for a week before filming.

The father-son duo is working together for the second time after their 2014 hit comedy ‘Main Tera Hero’, for which Varun bagged the IIFA Award.

‘Judwaa 2’ is the second instalment of the super hit comedy ‘Judwaa’ which starred Salman Khan, which was also directed and produced by David and Sajid. The film released in February, 1997, exactly 20 years ago.

The ‘Dishoom’ actor will be stepping into the shoes of Salman Khan from the original film and play double role for the first time. Jacqueline will play Karisma Kapoor’s bubbly character, while the ‘Pink’ actress will play a mature role played by Rambha in the original film.

Reportedly, Salman will also make a cameo appearance in the film in the role of 'godfather gunda' to the twin brothers played by Varun.

The script of ‘Judwaa 2’ has been written by duo Sajid-Farhad and it is generously peppered with ‘tapori’ slang. The movie will also have a remix of the chartbuster ‘Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara’ from the original. The hard-core commercial film will be made on a grand scale and will be shot in beach locations in the Mediterranean.

‘Judwaa 2’ is scheduled to hit screens on September 29.

Meanwhile, Varun will be seen in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ opposite Alia Bhatt. Directed by Shashank Khaitan  and produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film is the sequel to the 2014 film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhani’, and is slated to release on Holi on March 10.
