Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu rehearse ‘Unchi Hai Building’ for ‘Judwaa 2’
The shooting of Varun Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’, a remake of Salman Khan-starrer cult comedy ‘Judwaa’, is going on in full swing in London. The ‘Dishoom’ actor will be stepping into the shoes of Salman and will be seen in a double role opposite Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Varun’s dad, director David Dhawan, who has also helmed the original film, had earlier said that two songs - ‘Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara’ and ‘Unchi Hai Building’ from the original film will be recreated for the new version.
A video has surfaced online which has Varun and Taapsee trying to match steps to the 1997 chartbuster ‘Unchi Hai Building’. Both of them are seen rehearsing for the number to get it right when the song is actually shot. Some back-dancers can also be spotted in the video.
A fan of Varun posted the video on Instagram under the caption, “Can't wait for #Judwaa2 #varundhawan.”
The original song had Salman dancing with Karisma Kapoor and Rambha separately, in an empty mansion. It was composed by Anu Malik, who had also lent his vocals along with Poornima. Dev Kohli had penned the lyrics.
Salman will reportedly make a special appearance in the film in the role of Varun’s ‘Godfather Gunds’. The ‘Sultan’ actor has also presented Varun with a box full of jeans that he can wear for the tapori’s character in the movie, Varun had said during a press interaction sometime back.
The film also marks the reunion of the ‘Naam Shabana’ actress with her first director in Bollywood, David Dhawan, who directed her in 2013 film ‘Chashme Baddoor’. Varun had previously worked with his dad in ‘Main Tera Hero’.
‘Judwaa 2’ is scheduled to hit theatres on September 29 this year.
