Uncle Randhir Kapoor opens up on Ranbir Kapoor’s marriage

After Ranbir Kapoor was spotted with his mom Neetu Kapoor at Mumbai international airport, it gave rise to the speculation that Ranbir Kapoor headed to London to find a perfect match for him. Ranbir’s impending wedding is doing all round the net but his uncle and veteran actor Randhir Kapoor opens up on the actor’s marriage.

Recently, when actor Randhir Kapoor was asked about the speculation around Ranbir’s marriage, he said, “Ranbir is having a terrific time with all the success and the money he’s got, and age being in his favour too. Why does he have to get married and spoil it all so soon? Shaadi ke liye bahut time hai abhi usko (He’s got enough time in hand to get married). Let him have a nice time right now,” says Randhir, when asked if the Kapoor family often talks about Ranbir’s marriage, adding that, “Anyway, how is his relationship status anybody’s concern or business?”

Randhir says that he shares a pleasant relationship with his nephew Ranbir and he feels proud to see him growing on the career front. “At times, I envy him because I was nowhere at his age—with the kind of success and moolah that he’s got. He’s doing very well and I’m so proud. Little ups and downs and high and low tides are there in everyone’s career. This happens and it’s a passing phase, so that’s completely alright,” says the 70-year-old.

When asked if he’s happy the way his daughters are carrying forward the family’s legacy, Randhir answered proudly, “My two daughters [Karisma and Kareena] and [nephew] Ranbir are doing good job in films. They’re extremely successful.”

Ranbir is often compared with his father and uncles and when Randhir Kapoor was asked whether the comparison bothers him, “It’s okay to being compared and I don’t care, honestly. After all, there’s so much talent in the family that you’ll be left surprised every time. Our kids have not just surpassed us, but they’re doing very well for themselves,” he says.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of Anurag Basu's 'Jagga Jasoos' alongside Katrina Kaif. He has also signed Ayan Mukherji's 'Dragon' opposite Alia Bhatt and currently shooting for Sanjay Dutt's biopic.
