TV Stars Who Could Rock Bollywood
Serials are more popular than films and no wonder most aspiring actors start their careers by acting in serials. Even the King Khan had started out in Fouji and Circus on Doordarshan before he got his big break in Bollywood. Ace actress Vidya Balan had also started out with the Zee TV rib tickling comedy serial Hum Paanch.
The current breeds of TV serial artists are extremely talented and just need a good film maker to launch them in Bollywood. Here’s a list of the 6 best choices a film maker could make if he decided to choose his cast from among TV serial artist.
Anas
Rashid:
He is a psychology student from
Punjab and a 2004 winner of the Mr. Punjab title. His first stint was in the popular
TV serial Kahin to Hoga where he played Kartik Ahluwalia. Next appearance was
in Star Plus’ Prithviraj Chauhan where he played the lead. Now he plays the
humble and soft spoken Suraj in Diya Aur Baati Hum which is the most watched
serial on Star Plus. Anas is so handsome and well built that he is perfect for
becoming a mainstream actor in Bollywood. Be it romantic or an angry young man;
Anas would blend into every character seamlessly.
Jennifer
Winget:
She was the lovable Riddhima from
Dil Mil Gaye and the cute Sneha from Kasauti Zindagi Ki. Jennifer Winget has a
serene screen presence and can woo the audience with her charm in no time. This
lady definitely deserves a break into Bollywood for her fresh and pretty
appearance. It would be such a relief from watching the plastic like model
turned actresses cast in movies nowadays.
Kritika
Kamra:
She has an amazing body and could give any mainstream
actress a run for her money. She played the bubbly Arohi in Kitni Mohabbat Hai.
In fact the serial became quite popular as the audience loved the pair of Arjun
and Arohi. Kritika would be a
great choice for casting as the lead heroine or as an actress in a supporting
role. Her glamour would scorch the silver screen.
Shakti
Mohan:
The Dil
Dosti Dance girl; she was a hot favorite of the Channel V audience when the
serial started gaining popularity. She was recently seen in an item number in
Rowdy Rathod but Shakti is can do far more than just an item number. She could
be the lead actress if Bollywood ever had a ‘Step Up’ remake. The dancing God
of Bollywood; Hrithik Roshan could be cast opposite this firebrand dancer and
the movie would keep the cash registers ringing for a long time.
Narayani
Shashtri:
She is a
regular face in Doordarshan serials and her first serial on a cable channel was
Kusum where she played the role of a plotting Aunt Natasha aka ‘Tashu Bua’. Now
she can be seen on Zee Tv in the serial Phir Subha Hogi where she plays a
Zamindar’s courtesan. Narayani has sharp looks and large eyes which make her
perfect for the role of a Bollywood vamp. Movies nowadays are either based on
the ‘three friends’ formula or are raw political satires. We need actors like
Narayani to bring back the sexy vamp era in Bollywood.
Mona Singh:
She has
already featured as Kareena Kapoor’s sister in Three Idiots. She was pivotal to
the film in the sense that her labor pains occurred at the right time and saved
the three idiots from being expelled from the college. Now that she has already
stepped into Bollywood as a supporting actress; Mona Singh could consider
grabbing a role where she would be the leading actress. Considering her acting
prowess she would soon be the object of envy for a lot of mainstream actresses.
