TV actor Mohsin Khan claims cops harassed him and asked for bribe

Television actor Mohsin Khan, who plays the role of Kartik in popular series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, recently had an unpleasant encounter with cops. The actor alleged that he was harassed and the cops demanded a bribe after taking him to the police station.

According to reports, on Thursday night (June 15), the Mumbai Traffic Police stopped Mohsin for jumping signal and was fined. Though the actor was ready to pay the fine, police took him to the Bandra Police station. Mohsin claimed that the cops demanded a bribe, and when he refused, he was harassed.

Mohsin captured the incident on his mobile phone, and went live on Instagram. Given that Mohsin has a huge fan-base, the video went viral in no time. A fan shared the video on YouTube:   

Mohsin also took to Twitter to share his disappointment. He wrote, "They stop us for jumping the signal and asked for a bribe. Thats when i went live guys.” Another tweet read, “was asked for a bribe for signal jumping.I knew i did not jump but would rather pay d fine.Went live for all to see d guy who was behind it.”

The actor later told India Forums, "I go to Mahim dargah every Thursday after pack up and I was coming back while this happened. I did not jump the signal but he thought I did. However, I was still ready to pay the fine and but he asked me for a bribe."

"If any such thing ever happens with someone, they should be responsible and rather pay the fine, but never bribe. There is difference between the two, so you'd rather do the former and play your part well," he added.
