Trailer: ‘The Ghazi Attack’ starring Rana Daggubati is impressive

The trailer of ‘The Ghazi Attack’, touted to be India’s first war-at-sea film, has been unveiled on social media handle of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Atul Kulkarni and Kay Kay Menon. It also features late actor Om Puri who passed away a few days ago.

‘The Ghazi Attack’ is inspired from true events of Indian Navy’s secret mission abroad submarine S-21 which destroyed the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi which was on its way to destroy INS Vikrant and conquer the Visakhapatanam port.

The trailer opens with the baritone voice of Amitabh Bachchan who narrates about the wars fought between India and Pakistan, and the secret underwater battle that we ‘did not know about’. Rana looks handsome as Lt Commander Arjun Varma, while Kay Kay plays a Sikh officer. Om Puri and Nassar play their seniors.

Taapsee’s character is shown as a Bengali from erstwhile East Pakistan who is rescued by the Naval officers on the classified mission. The officers are also well aware that their contribution and martyrdom will not be recognised, but they are still driven in the mission for a better future of their motherland.

The trailer is very impressive and thrilling, and the underwater scenes have been brilliantly shot. ‘The Ghazi Attack’ has been directed by Sankalp Reddy and co-produced by Dharma Productions and AA Films. It is slated to release on 17 February.
