Trailer: Rajinikanth romances Deepika in ‘Kochadaiiyaan’

Well, the wait is over and superstar Rajinikanth is back with his new movie which is grand is every aspect ranging from screenplay, techniques, set, story to picturization. As promised, audience will get to see Rajinikanth in never seen before avatar. It is a high technique 3D movie and Rajinikanth will be seen in mythological character romancing the long legged actress Deepika Padukone.

Directed by his younger daughter Soundarya R Ashwin, the film rides high on style, action, technique. It excels in every department of film making. Rajinikanth’s character will be seen doing some high octane action scene and also doing some intense dance number, similar to the line of tandav. The trailer shows Rajinikanth dancing around Deepika Padukone is some mind blowing locations. Deepika plays the character of princess Vandana who is awe of brave heart Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth as the archetypal superhero will be seen fighting good against the evil. The superstar plays a double role and Deepika will be seen romancing younger Rajinikanth. ‘Kochanidaiiyaan’ will be released in six languages.

The film has been made apparently in the high technology of big-budget Hollywood films such as ‘Avatar’ (2009), ‘The Adventures of Tintin’ (2011) and ‘Beowulf’ (2007). The film is a visual treat. The trailer of the film was released recently along with the music launch which was attended by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Directors K Balachandar, S P Muthuraman, Shankar, K S Ravi Kumar and lyricist Vairamuthu were also seen at the event at Sathyam Cinemas at the music launch.

Media reports said Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya hoped her directorial debut ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ would be a game-changer for Indian cinema at the international level. At the audio launch event of the Rs 125-crore film at Sathyam Cinemas, Rajinikanth was quoted by a daily saying the film was a return gift to the Tamil audience. “I like stories that are about kings and queens and used to read stories that began with Once Upon A Time…”

“I haven’t done a film based on folklore and that’s why I wanted to do Rana but I fell ill. When I heard this story, I liked it more than Rana and as motion capture was used, I did not have to push myself,” he said.

Music of the film was composed by ace music director AR Rahman.
