Over the years many Bollywood actors and actresses have won the National Award for their excellent performance and contribution to the film industry. Their contribution to their films has made Indian Cinema reach a level where nothing else can reach there. Here are a few Bollywood celebrities who have won the National Award for their excellence in acting.

He won the National Award for his performance in films like, ‘Saat Hindustani’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Paa’ and ‘Black’. His extraordinary style and grace in acting has made him a global face in the world of cinema and still continues to contribute a lot to the Indian Cinema.
Shabana Azmi:
She is the most talented and versatile actress in Bollywood and is a much known face in Indian Cinema. She has won the National Award five times for her performances in films like, ‘Arth’, ‘Ankur’, ‘Godmother’, ‘Khandar’ and ‘Paar’. She has been the most successful actress in Bollywood and continues to rule a lot of hearts with her acting. She has always done which have been very unique in its own way and no other actress has been able to match to her level till now.
This Bollywood beauty has won the National Award couple of times in the best actress category, for her performance in films like, ‘Maachis’ and ‘Chandni Bar’. Throughout her acting career she has donned characters, which has always been very unique and diverse. Her performance in the movie, ‘Chaachi 420’, had earned her a lot of appreciation.

Even though the National Award to Anil Kapoor was highly criticised and controversial, still nobody could snatch away the credit from the actor for his brilliant performance in the movie, ‘Pukar’. That year itself Raveena Tandon won the national award for her performance in the movie, ‘Daman’, which was again criticised.
Arjun Rampal:

Talented actor, Arjun Rampal won the national award for his performance as a supporting acting in the movie, ‘Rock On’. His subtle acting in the film as a guitarist was loved by the audience and he is still known for his role in, ‘Rock On’.

The National Awards has always been criticised for its wrong decisions but the Bollywood actors and actresses’ contribution in Indian Cinema has always got them a lot of respect and honour. We really hope our Indian stars continue to win awards like this.
