Tollywood drug racket: Actress Mumaith Khan appears before SIT

Tollywood actor Mumaith Khan is the latest celebrity in the row to be interrogated by Special Investigation Team (SIT). The actor, who is currently one of the participants of the Telugu reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’ was granted a day off  from the ‘Bigg Boss’ house in Lonavala for the interrogation.

As per report, around 10 am, four-member team of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) started interrogating the actor at Abkari Bhavan, the office of prohibition and excise department.

She was being asked whether she has any links with Calvin Mascrenhas, the alleged kingpin of the high-profile drug racket and also asked her if she takes drug.

Since Mumaith’s name was involved in the racket, she was allowed to take a day off from ‘Bigg Boss’ for interrogation. She in her earlier post claimed innocence. “I have not received any notices,” she had said in a video.

So far SIT has interrogated eight persons and Mumaith Khan was the eighth one. Earlier Dharma Rao alias Chinna, filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu and actors P Subba Raju, Tarun Kumar and P Navdeep were interrogated by SIT.  Meanwhile, actor Charmme Kaur also appeared before the SIT and she was questioned form 10am to 5pm.
