Tiger Shroff pays tribute to dad Jackie Shroff in ‘Munna Michael’

Tiger Shroff is currently shooting for the upcoming musical drama ‘Munna Michael’ opposite newcomer Nidhhi Agerwal. Recently, they shot for a song, which, the ‘Baaghi’ actor said was a tribute to his father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff.

"The song is a tribute to my father. There is no better way I could have done it than as his Munna. Dad is my buddy, my first hero... He's the reason I'm here. That's why for this character I'm trying to live his life", Tiger told a popular newsagency.

Titled ‘Ding Dang’, the song features Tiger and Nidhhi shaking their legs to the steps choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. Reportedly, the song was shot on the sets of a street and atop a bus in Mumbai’s Film City.

Tiger shared a picture of the song’s shooting on social media and wrote, “This one is going to be special #munnamichael.” In the picture the young actor, with a bandana on head and unbuttoned shirt, looks like a younger version of his dad. He has been styled in a manner to resemble Jackie Shroff.

"We styled Tiger in a manner similar to his father back in the day. The dance moves have also been designed keeping Jaggu dada in mind. Tiger somewhat looks like his dad from 'Hero'. He has even spoken in that lukkha lingo and does it well," film’s director Sabbir Khan said.

Tiger's mother Ayesha Shroff also mentioned that her son and her husband share personality traits and features saying, "When I saw the 'Munna Michael' song that he shot for last week, I was stunned. He has paid homage to Jackie and how! Tiger totally reminds me of Jackie from 'Hero', particularly the stubble, hairdo, his eyes and the clothes. It's amazing how he's pulled it off.”

‘Munna Michael’ is Tiger’s third collaboration with director after his debut ‘Heropanti’ and ‘Baaghi’. The movie also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and is scheduled to release on July 7.
