Tiger Shroff, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ earns Rs 228.55 crore on 8th day


Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War’ has made a whopping Rs 228.55 crore on the eight day.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and wrote, “#War [#Hindi] Wed 51.60 cr, Thu 23.10 cr, Fri 21.30 cr, Sat 27.60 cr, Sun 36.10 cr, Mon 20.60 cr, Tue 27.75 cr, Wed 11.20 cr. Total: ? 219.25 cr. Including #Tamil + #Telugu: ? 228.55 cr. #India biz.”

On the opening day, the film has garnered a whopping Rs 53.35 crore. 'War' turned out to be Tiger and Hrithik's first biggest opener ever. 

On the second day, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s ‘War’ witnessed a dip. On the second day, ‘War’ has made Rs 23.10 crore nett. In two days, the action oriented movie has earned Rs 74.70 crore. 

Sharing the second-day collections of the film, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “War Hindi: Wed 51.60 cr, Thu 23.10 cr. Total: Rs 74.70 cr. Tamil + Telugu: Wed 1.75 cr, Thu 1.25 cr. Total: Rs 3 cr. Total: Rs 77.70 cr. India biz. War should gather momentum on Day 4 [Sat] and 5 [Sun], thus packing a superb total in its *extended* weekend.”

According to a report in Boxofficeindia, the film reportedly saw a plunge of 55-60%, post a national holiday (Oct 2).

Tweeting the figures, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote: “#War creates H-I-S-T-O-R-Y... Sets new benchmarks for #Hindi films... Big holiday [#GandhiJayanti] + unprecedented hype results in mind boggling *Day 1* total... Crosses the previous best - #ThugsOfHindostan - by a margin, despite lower screen count.” War has had to face stiff competition in India -- in South, it has had to compete with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Speaking about the film's thunderous performance on day 1, director Siddharth Anand said, "It is truly overwhelming and gratifying to get this kind of love from audiences for our hard work in making War a truly big screen spectacle. Having two of the biggest action superstars of Indian cinema, we had the immense responsibility to give audiences a never seen before visual experience and I feel hugely validated that people across the country have loved our action entertainer that has pushed the envelop of action genre in India."

An elated Sidharth told ANI at the success party of the film, “We are deeply thankful and humbled. We have made ‘War’ with a lot of passion, belief and love and it’s fantastic to see audiences enjoying themselves to the fullest in the theatres. Our film is a big screen experience and we hope we entertain people across the length and breadth of our country in the days to come.”
