‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ goes off-air, confirms channel


After ‘Pehredaar Piya Ke’, Sony Entertainment channel another popular show, ‘The Kapil Sharma show’ is going off-air. The channel has decided ta take a break from the popular comedy show due to Kapil’s ill-health and repeated cancellation of the show.

An official spokesperson from the channel has sent out a statement saying: “Kapil has been under the weather for sometime now. Due to which, we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However once Kapil has recovered completely, we will start shooting once again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.”

"The show is not going anywhere. It is still here and during the break, we are putting repeats at the 8.00 p.m slot," the source told IANS, 

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ will be replaced by the new comedy show, ‘The Drama Company’. ‘Super Dancer’ will reportedly take The Drama Company’s time slot of 8 pm, while the latter will be aired at Kapil Sharma show’s time, 9 pm.

The decision of the channel came days after Ajay Devgn and his team left after Kapil failed to arrive.

When asked about it, Ajay Devgn told IANS: "Many shows have got cancelled in the past. And he is not keeping well for quite some time. I don't know what happened. We left because he hadn't reached. When I will talk to him next, I will get to know the reason."

In the past few months, many celebrities had to return without shooting due to Kapil Sharma’s ill health.
