Teaser: Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 'Broken Horses' impresses Hollywood

Bollywood director Vidhu Vinod Chopra is gathering a lot of kudos these days. After doing brilliantly in the India filmdom, the talented producer is all set to enter Hollywood with his ‘Broken Horses’.

This movie, to be released on 10th April next year, is the first English directorial of Chopra. The teaser trailer was released on 19th December along with ‘PK’. He is working with Reliance Entertainment on this project. The film is a thriller, and is based on a story written by Chopra. It is centered around two brothers- a famous violinist and the other one a mercenary- who are surrounded by the woes of drug war near the Mexican border. As Chopra revealed in an interview, the story is about the wrong choices one makes and how this destroy several lives and everything that is dear.

The movie has Maria Valverde, Anton Yelchin, Thomas Jane, Sean Patrick Flanery and Vencent D'Onofrio in the lead roles. The filming started on 14th December 2012 in Los Angles and the nearby areas. The marketing and distribution in India is being done by Fox Studios. ‘Broken Horses’ is highly praised by some big names in Hollywood. Director James Cameron, renowned for movies like ‘Titanic’ and ‘Avatar’, finds the trailer totally engrossing. Cameron went on to state that, “Broken Horses is an artistic triumph. Beautifully written, acted and imaged, this film wraps slowly around you like a king snake and squeezes.” While the ‘Gravity’ director Alfonso Cuaron was also very impressed, as he said, “Broken Horses overwhelmed me. The greatness of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s films comes from the fact that all his characters are driven by love.” It is to be noted that Vidhu would be the first Indian to produce, write and direct a mainstream Hollywood movie.
