Teaser: Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a cruel assassin in ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’


Nawazuddin Siddiqui has carved a niche for himself with his varied and impressive performances in films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Manjhi- The Mountain Man’, ‘Haramkhor’, ‘Raees’ and others. The acclaimed actor has a line-up of films including Tiger Shroff’s ‘Munna Michael’, Sridevi’s ‘Mom’ and ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, the official teaser of which was unveiled on Friday.

Nawazuddin plays the lead of a cruel, remorseless and horny gun man, in the action thriller that narrates the life and journey of a contract killer.

The teaser opens with the signature tune of All India Radio and an announcement of a song in the vocals of Lata Mangeshkar and Md. Rafi, as Nawazuddin wearing a lungi, chewing daatun, a radio tucked beneath his arms and a pail in hand, walks into the fields for the morning ritual. He is described as a ‘showbaaz’, ‘daarubaaz’, ‘r****baaz’ and ‘bandookbaz’ whose job is to ‘outsource’ for ‘yamraaj’. He is an aggressive killer who gets paid for his job. There are also scenes wherein he is being chased, beaten up and her cries loudly. He is also seen celebrating his ‘kill’ by doing a funny dance. The over-one-minute teaser ends with Nawaz mouthing, ““Free mein thodi na marenge. Ek ek ka paisa mila hai.”  

Nawaz shared the teaser on Twitter by writing, “Lo dekh lo Aa gaye hai hum leke Babumoshai Teaser @BabuBandookbaaz @biditabag #BabumoshaiBandookbaaz.”

The first look poster of the film has also been unveiled and it features Nawazuddin’s character as a rustic villager wearing a lungi and vest, with a radio tucked under his arms and a gun at the waist.

‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ has been directed by Kushan Nandyand also stars Divya Dutta, Bidita Bag, Murli Sharma, Jatin Goswami and Shraddha Das. The film is expected to release in August, though the final date is yet to be decided.
