Taapsee Pannu to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan

Actress Taapsee Pannu who was last seen in ‘Baby’ opposite Akshay Kumar will now share screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in filmmaker Soojit Sircar’s next production.

The National Film Award winning director who worked with Big B in in his last venture ‘Piku’ is all set to work on his yet untitled production which is a thriller revolving around a social cause. The film will mark the Bollywood directorial debut of National Award winning Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

The film will go on floors in February next year and will be shot entirely in Delhi over a period of two months. The film will have three leading ladies and Taapsee has been roped in as one of them.

Taapsee,  who was seen in an action avatar in ‘Baby’, will play the role of a young, independent girl who helps the protagonist. Amitabh Bachchan readily agreed to do the film as the issue is close to his heart, while the actress gave her nod to the film last month, a leading daily quoting a source as saying.

Aniruddha, who has been working on the script for the last two-and-a-half years, is on the lookout for two more actresses. "The cast will begin reading sessions in January," said the source, adding that Taapsee, who is a native of Delhi, won't have to prep up much. "The character is quite similar to the real her. She is yet to read the whole script."
