‘Swaragini’ actor Namish Taneja robbed of belongings worth Rs. 4 lakhs

Television actor Namish Taneja, who played the male lead Laksh on Colors show ‘Swaragini’, has been robbed of gold jewellery, cash and a new mobile phone, together worth Rs 4 lakhs last Sunday (January 29).

The actor was obviously, upset and shared an image of the print article reporting the incident, on his Twitter handle. “It’s really sad and depressing, when someone steals our hard-earned money. #gotrobbed,” the actor wrote with the image.

Namish co-owns a boutique with his sister and they had recently set up a stall at an exhibition in Lokhandwala, where a girl stole their belongings. Fortunately, he has managed to get the CCTV footage and has submitted the same and lodged an FIR in Oshiwara police station.

The Bombay times quoted Namish as saying, “My sister was at the counter. As we had to give the rent for the stall, we had withdrawn Rs. 5,0000 rupees from the bank. We had kept the money in the bag, which had some gold ornaments along with some earnings from the stall and a mobile phone.”

“A group of four ladies visited our stall. One of the ladies then stole the bag, which was kept on the counter, while my sister was busy with the others. Thankfully, I got the CCTV footage of the exit door. It was visible in the footage that one of the ladies, was carrying my sister’s bag. It’s really sad when someone steals our hard-earned money,” he told the daily.

Namish was also seen in Sony TV series 'Ekk Nayi Pehchaan', which marked the debut of yesteryear Bollywood actresses Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure on the small screen.
