Sushant Singh Rajput’s film teaser to release with ‘HNY’

Sushant Singh Rajput is in the process of successfully transitioning from a popular TV actor to a popular film star. After delivering critically acclaimed performances in first two films, Sushant is all set to feature in several diverse and interesting projects. One of the projects is ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee.

Byomkesh Bakshi is a popular detective character from Bengali literature and has several Bengali films made on his adventures, including one from Oscar winning director Satyajit Ray. Dibakar’s film is being made under the banner of Yash Raj Films. As per latest industry reports,   the teaser of the film will release with the theatrical release of SRK’s ‘Happy New Year’. Since Yash Raj Films is in charge of distributing ‘HNY’, they decided to attach one of their interesting projects with it.

‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ will feature Sushant Singh Rajput in a never before seen avatar as he plays a young Byomkesh from 1940’s who is fresh out of college and gets entangled in his first ever adventure. Many were surprised when Dibakar Banerjee announced his choice for the title role. When asked why he chose Sushant for the role, Dibakar had said, "Sushant Singh Rajput has that dormant volcano thing about him that is just right for my Byomkesh. He looks so quiet, so self-absorbed and withdrawn - till you challenge him. Then he explodes and becomes the most dangerous man in the world - at least for the criminals.”

Apart from this film Sushant will also be seen in Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’. He is also part of director Shekhar Kapoor’s ambitious project ‘Paani’ which is set in a futuristic world. Sushant will also be seen playing Indian cricket team skipper MS Dhoni in a biopic film. The first look of the film was released last month.  Reports are claiming that he will also be part of director Homi Adjania’s next project but it is yet to be confirmed.

Sushant has also been a favorite of gossip columns due to his personal life. He began dating his TV co-star Ankita Lokhande five years back and since then they have been living together. When asked about their marriage, the couple generally avoids answering. But as per latest reports, the wedding may be on its way. A source close to the actor has informed, "Sushant has told some of his friends that he intends to settle down sometime next year. If he is lucky to get a window of about 15 days, he will get married either in Udaipur or Jaipur. And Ankita wants it to be in Rajasthani style with all grandeur. She expects him to ride an elephant to the marriage venue along with the baraat.”
