Sushant Singh Rajput to marry girlfriend Ankita soon

They met on the set of TV soap ‘Pavitra Rishta’ four years back and they fell for each other. They are going steady for several years and now they have decided to take their relationship to the next level. Yes, we are talking about television’s most cherished couple, Sushant Singh Rajput and his girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.

Sushant and Ankita are going to tie the knot this year. "We are in happy space today. I think marriage can happen anytime... It can be this year or next year," Sushant told PTI.

"She is the stabilising factor in my life. It is because of her that my happiness gets multiplied and when there is a setback she holds me," he added.

Sushant debuted in Bollywood with ‘Kai Po Che’ but he is least bothered about his female fan base as he is always vocal about his relationship status.

"I did not think about all this... I don't understand stardom I don't aspire for stardom. I feel even if I am married or single or divorced and still I am skillful at my work and convincingly portray characters on screen then there is no reason to worry as the believability factor is still there in me," he added.

There are lots of quality films lined up and Sushant has a great future ahead. He will be seen in Aditya Chopra's ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Peekay’ and Dibarkar Banerjee's ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’.

Speaking about Ankita's role in his filmy career, he said, "She is very much aware of the films I am doing. She does give me suggestions. I think I can't ask for more".

When asked is he ready to work with Ankita, he said “I definitely will but we have not got offers but if something interesting comes up I will do it. So far no one has offered us films together”.

Sushant speaks about his take on relationship, “Our society is hypocrite when it comes to relationships. When you are talking about romance or live in relationships almost all of us follow and have a stereotypical persona there is discrimination in terms of gender, male chauvinism and in terms of marriage there is a lot of confusion”.

“The youth of today is confused whether to follow age old traditions or to follow their heart. They hide a lot of things. They say something and do something else. The film is interesting in a lot of ways. The characters simply follow their heart they are very open with their thoughts and believe in things they do. It's funny also.  I feel one has to be free and follow the heart and I am doing what I believe in my real life too”, he added.
