Sushant Singh Rajput @ 30: A storehouse of talent


Born on January 21, 1986, television star-turned-Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput turned 30 on Thursday. Sushant shot to fame with his stint in Ekta Kapoor’s popular TV series ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He charmed the ladies with his cute looks and dimpled smile and became a heartthrob overnight. He also fell in love with his ‘Pavitra Rishta’ co-star Ankita Lokhande and has been in a steady relationship for a long time. The duo plans to get married later this year.

After becoming a household name as a TV actor Sushant took the big leap to Bollywood. He featured as one of the male leads in Abhishek Kapoor’s 2013 drama ‘Kai Po Che!’ He won the hearts of critics and audience with his performance and proved that he was here to stay. He then went on to star in romantic comedy ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and thriller ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ and showcased his storehouse of amazing talent.

Sushant has carved a niche for himself in the industry and is touted as the rising star of Hindi cinema by industry insiders. He began his career as a dancer and was a part of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe. He also worked in theatre and was a member of Nadira Babbar's Ekjute theatre group and that was when he realised that his true calling was acting.

Sushant was a bright student and secured a jaw-dropping 7th rank in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) of 2003 and earned a seat in the prestigious Delhi College of Engineering in the Mechanical Engineering stream. But the young man left the promise of a great engineering career to venture into the untested waters of the entertainment industry.

Sushant comes from a humble background and despite having any connections in the industry he has made it big in the industry. He is currently awaiting the release of his ambitious project ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’. He has also bagged a significant role in Shekhar Kapur’s post apocalyptic ‘Paani’ with Hrithik Roshan in the lead. He will also be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s yet untitled film opposite another young talent Kriti Sanon.
