Sushant-Kriti’s kiss trimmed from ‘Raabta’ for U/A certificate

Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon's much-anticipated film ‘Raabta’ is set to hit screens in less than 48 hours, but the romantic drama has apparently shocked the ‘sanskaari’ censor board.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested several cuts after reviewing the film late last week ahead of its release. The officials were reportedly appalled at the excessive use of profanities and also found a kissing scene between the lead pair ‘too hot to handle’.

‘Raabta’ makers ultimately complied with the CBFC’s decision.

A report in SpotboyE quoted a source as saying, “The language used in a few scenes was very dirty. The Censors were flabbergasted that such a thing could exist in a simple love story of two young stars who are so loved by the masses and have a following amongst the kids. They even found Kriti-Sushant's kiss too hot to handle."

The report further stated that the officials asked the makers to trim the objectionable words and scenes if they wanted a ‘U/A’ certificate, or agree to an ‘A’ certificate as the matter was non-negotiable.

‘Raabta’ is a love story with the theme of reincarnation. It also stars Jim Sarb of ‘Neerja’ fame and Rajkumar Rao in a cameo. Deepika Padukone also makes a special appearance in the title song of the movie.

Directed by Dinesh Vijan, ‘Raabta’ is set to release this Friday, June 9.
