Sunny Leone’s ‘Mastizaade’ fails to get ‘A’ certificate for obscenity

Sunny Leone is again in the news and this time for her upcoming film ‘Mastizaade’ which failed to get ‘A’ certificate from censor board. The film faces the wrath of the censor board due to its bold content. Censor board rejects to pass the film with 'A' certificate due to its sexual content. After rejection from censor board, the film was sent to the Revising Committee for reviewing of the decision but here too the film failed to meet the criteria.

Now the makers have moved to Film Certification Appellate Tribunal to take the final call. The film stars Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das along with Sunny. The film has been directed by Milap Zaveri 'Grand Masti' fame.

One of the female members of the committee decided to pass the film with ‘A’ certificate with few cuts. Pahlaj Nihalani had told I&B Ministry that the decision was taken by Nandini Sardesai, a member of RC.

However, Pritish Nandy is apparently not convinced with the decision and argued that Nandini Sardesai was not present during the screening.

However, the decision is still pending and ‘Mastizaade’ is awaiting a reply from the Tribunal.
