Sunny Leone turns show stopper at IIJW

Bollywood bombshell Sunny Leone is not just stuck in films. She is making her presence felt on TV as well as on the ramp. She was part of the ongoing 2014 India International Jewelry Week (IIJW) being held in the city of Mumbai. She was the show stopper for the jewelry brand Apala which featured jewelry created by designer Sumit Sawhney.

Sunny was said to be highly impressed by the ‘breathtaking designs’ that she flaunted during the event. The event was held on last Monday. The title of the show was ‘The Royal Tribe’. The theme of the show was an amalgamation between tribal and royal jewelry elements.

Sunny simply stole the show as she was adorned by the elegant hand-crafted jewelry.  Sunny looked simply amazing as she dazzled down the ramp. For the show she was wearing a Hasli influenced by Victorian period elements. The piece also had golden claws that helped to add the tribal flavor to the look.

Sunny also flaunted during the show a bold looking calf-piece. But perhaps the most unique of all was the back-piece she wore. It was a Jade embellished wreath which cascaded on the show stoppers back. During the shoe she also wore head-pieces, cufflinks and earrings. After the show Sunny said, "Sumit's jewelry has so much creativity and finesse. Apala was a break from the usual bling on stage. I was awed by its breathtaking designs. The back pieces were very different and spectacular. I absolutely loved the entire set he designed for me."

The man behind the jewelry Sumit Sawhney said, “My line, by combining the tribal and the royal, ventures forth into a territory that was yet to be explored. My collection captures the true essence of the two, coalescing it into a beautiful synthesis.” Sunny and other models wore ensembles from the brand Meraki for the show. The dazzling cotton and shimmer gowns were created by Delhi-based designer Atithi Gupta.

After the success of ‘Ragini MMS 2’, Sunny has several projects in hand. She will be playing an action packed role for the first time in Devang Dholakia film ‘Tina and Lolo’. She will also be part of the sex comedy ‘Mastizaade’ which is directed by Milap Zaveri. It also features Tushar Kapoor and Vir Das. She is also being called for projects in South Indian films. She is all set to make her Telugu debut in the film ‘Current Theega’.
