Sunil Grover aka Gutthi’s ‘Mad In India’ goes off-air

The comedy show, ‘Mad In India’ aired on Star Plus ends on a sad note. The last episode with Tusshar Kapoor was shot on April 18th. The premature death of the show is due to poor TRP. The show started with a bang but failed to stand up to the expectation of the audience. ‘Mad In India’ failed to generate laughter. Comedian Sunil Gover started the show after quitting Kapil Sharma’s ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’.

A source close to the channel confirms the news. “The show couldn't keep up to the mark and failed to generate TRP for the channel. Finally, they have decided to put a curtain down on it. A new show will be announced very soon. The production house have already completed shooting with Tushaar Kapoor and they might make this episode the last one.’’ says a source.

Bollywood actor Chunkey Pandey who had recently made an entry to the show too confirms the news saying, “Yes, I shot the last episode. Everything has its own destiny and this too had its own share. The show had picked up very well in the last two weeks. I have enjoyed a lot, but it failed to make audience laugh. This show could have done much better if given more chance. But finally adieu for Gutthi’s show . ”

The show was earlier conceptualized for 26 episodes but due to its poor show, it has been reduced to 13 episodes.

Actor Krushna Abhishek, who recently replaced Manish Paul as the show host, got to shoot only two out of four episodes as per the contract.

Says a source associated with the show, "As reported by your website, the show is ending after completing 13 episodes. It failed to generate sustainable ratings."
