Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir films pitted against each other

Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ are making headlines as both the films are slated to release on the same day, which is on Eid 2016. But there is also the third Khan in the picture with his film. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ is also based on the same lines as that of ‘Sultan’.

While all the three Khans have a huge fan following, Salman’s film is clashing with both the films – one shares the release date, while other shares a similar subject.

Aamir’s ‘Dangal’ is based on the real life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who is father and coach of Indian women wrestlers Geeta and Babita Kumari Phogat. The ‘PK’ star essays the role of the wrestler in the film to be directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

The primary cast for ‘Dangal’ is already finalised and all of them including Aamir are undergoing training. The actor will appear as an 18-year-old and a 50-year-old father of two in the film. He has already put on weight to play the 50-year-old in the later part of the film which will be shot first. Aamir will lose the extra kilos to shoot for the first part where he will be sporting the look of an 18-year-old.

‘Mr Prefectionist’ has committed two years for the film, during which he will not be taking up any other project. ‘Dangal’ will begin shooting in September and is slated to release by the end of next year.

On the other hand, the teaser video announcing the release date of ‘Sultan’, reveals that Salman is also playing the role of Haryanavi wrestler Sultan Ali Khan. However, the female lead for the film is not yet finalised for the film to be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj Films.

Moreover, the ‘Dabangg’ star is currently busy promoting ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and also shooting for Rajshri Productions’ ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. ‘Sultan’ is slated to go on floors in November when ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ hits screens.

In all the three cases, the major trouble is the release dates. ‘Sultan’ will be locking horns with ‘Raees’ at the box office, while it is assumed that Salman’s film which releases before ‘Dangal’ might dilute audience’s interest for the Aamir starrer, as both the films is about wrestling.
