‘Sui Dhaaga’: Varun Dhawan, Anushka Sharma shoot at Bhopal’s bus station


New stills from ‘Sui Dhaaga’ was unveiled on net which shows Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma shooting at Bhopal’s bus stop. Varun, who plays mauji in the film dons a checkered shirt and pajama, while Anushka has draped a printed blue saree with minimal make-up. The scene is shot at Bhopal’s bus station.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are coming together for the first time for ‘Sui Dhaaga – Made In India’. Talking about the film, Varun had earlier told earlier, “From Gandhiji to Modiji, our leaders have always endorsed the mantra of Made in India. With Sui Dhaaga, I am proud to take their message to millions of movie lovers in a way that is entertaining and relevant. I really liked the script that Sharat had written and I am happy that I am teaming up with YRF on this one. Anushka and I are pairing up for the first time so I am sure there will be fireworks.”

Anushka had said, “I always get excited with unique ideas that have human interest stories. SUI DHAAGA is a story of self-reliance that I believe will connect to the grassroots level with every Indian. And I am really looking forward to working with Varun Dhawan and the team of Sharat Katariya and Maneesh Sharma.” 

Produced by Maneesh Sharma under the Yash Raj Films banner, the film was helmed by ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ director Sharat Katariya.

Speaking about the choice of his heroine, Maneesh had said, “We wanted someone who could effortlessly transform herself into a character who is intelligent, strong and expressive even in her silence. Anushka brings in the authenticity and resilient spirit as a performer and a star. Today, moviegoers want to discover and love characters that they connect with. They want to identify themselves with the story and see how convincingly and truthfully actors translate it.”

Both the actors have been trained hard on tailoring and stitching. While Varun learned to work on sewing machine while Anushka handles with needle and thread.

‘Sui Dhaaga’ is slated to release on September 28.
