Stardust Awards: Big B, SRK, Sonam, Anushka emerge winners


Sonam Kapoor starrer biopic ‘Neerja’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ turned out to be the big winner at the Star Dust Awards held in Mumbai on Monday night (December 19).

Sonam Kapoor bagged the Editor’s Choice Best Actress Award for the Ram Madvani directorial, while Shabana Azmi was presented the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for her performance as Rama Bhanot. Jim Sarbh received the Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ walked away with four Awards. Anushka Sharma received the Viewers’ Choice Best Actress of the Year for both ‘ADHM’ and ‘Sultan’. ‘ADHM’ also got the Best Music Director Award for composer Pritam, as well as the Best Lyricist and Best Playback Male for the song ‘Channa Mereya’ for Amitabh Bhattacharya and singer Arijit Singh, respectively.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the Viewers’ Choice Best Actor of the Year for ‘Pink’ and Editor’s Choice Best Actor of the Year for ‘Fan’, respectively. Bachchan ‘bahu’ Aishwarya Rai received the Award for Most Iconic Performance of the Year for Omung Kumar’s ‘Sarabjit’.

Rishi Kapoor bagged the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) for the movie ‘Kapoor & Sons’, which also bagged the trophy for Best Story. Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Udta Punjab’ was adjudged the film with the Best Screenplay, while Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ took away the Viewer’s Choice Best Film of the Year Award. Ajay Devgn also received the Award for Path-breaking direction for his film ‘Shivaay’.

Veteran actress Rekha once again was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The gorgeous diva received the same award at the Star Screen Awards held earlier this month. Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Rane received the Best Debut Male for ‘Mirzya’, while the Best Debut Female was shared by Saiyami Kher for ‘Mirzya’, and Disha Patani for ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’.

Priyanka Chopra, who had arrived in Mumbai just the previous evening, was presented the Global Icon of the Year, while Varun Dhawan was awarded the Best Superstar of Next Generation.
