Sridevi, Sanjay Dutt to reunite for KJo’s film after 25 years

Sridevi, whose film ‘Mom’ has just hit screens with good response, is likely to reunite with actor Sanjay Dutt after 25 years for her next project with filmmaker Karan Johar. While Sridevi has already given her nod, the ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ actor has been approached with it, a report in popular daily stated.

Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt were seen together in 1993 film ‘Gumrah’ that was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by KJo’s dad, the late Yash Johar. The upcoming film is said to be a partition drama which was originally the dream of Karan’s father. Hence, it is quite close to the Dharma Productions honcho.

The movie will be directed by Abhishek Varman, who had debuted with ‘2 States’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, produced by Karan. He will be collaborating with Karan’s Dharma Productions and Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment – NGE after three years.

The upcoming movie also features Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. Reportedly, Abhishek is giving the final touches to the script and the film is likely to go on floors early next year. Apparently, Karan and Sajid are happy with the creative flow and are waiting for the young director to show them the final draft. A hunt for an appropriate title for the film is also on.

Abhishek was unavailable for comment as was Karan.
