Sridevi rejected ‘Baahubali’, reason husband Boney Kapoor

Sridevi lost the chance of playing the challenging character of Sivagami in ‘Baahubali’ series and the reason is her producer husband, Boney Kapoor.  She was the first choice of Sivagami character in ‘Baahubali’ but the ‘Baahubali’ makers had to drop the idea of roping Sridevi due to Boney Kapoor astronomical demand.

Sridevi rejected ‘Baahubali’ and accepted ‘Puli’. The team of ‘Baahubali’ is extremely upset with Sridevi and her husband Boney Kapoor.

Boney Kapoor not only wanted a huge fees for the role but also he demands a share of the ‘Baahubali’ profit. Sridevi turned the movie for her husband Boney Kapoor. The source told the daily, "We respect Srideviji a lot. And yes, she was the first choice for Sivagami. This was very early in the project."

He added: "But when we approached her, her husband, Boney Kapoor, quoted a staggering fee. Plus, he wanted a share of the Baahubali profits. We dropped the idea immediately, though we were very keen on casting Srideviji. Later, we came to know she did a Tamil film (Puli), where she was given the fee that her husband wanted."

However, fans would be glad to see Sridevi playing the role of Sivagami.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma slammed Sridevi for rejecting the blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali’.

"If @SrideviBKapoor did Bahubali 2 she would have gotten more credit than Prabhas it being her very next film after English Vinglish," RGV tweeted.
