Sonu Nigam’s smartphone worth Rs 29,000 stolen

Playback singer Sonu Nigam’s smartphone worth Rs 29,000 stole from his Andheri(W) residence. The singer lodged a complaint with Versova police that his phone, a Samsung Note III, worth Rs 29,000 was stole from his residence.

The phone was stolen when the singer hosted a party at his residence on May 24. On registering his complaint, Sonu said that he could not find his cell phone since late night party which he hosted at his Seven Bungalows residence but he did not name any suspect.

"We have registered the complaint. So far we have no leads in the case, however, the investigation is still on, “said a police officer from the police station.

"As it was low on battery, Nigam had plugged the cellphone for charging. The next day, he couldn't find it where it had been left," said senior inspector Ravindranath Pawar.

The police officials said that Sonu seemed very angry as he has stored all his contacts, personal photos and messages in the handset.

Investigation is underway and the police will contact service providers track the IMEI number on the mobile phone.
