Sonu Nigam shares Aadesh Shrivastava’s last selfie & conversation

Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava took his last breath on the intervening night of September 4 and 5, and his family, friends and fans are grieving his early demise at 49. Singer Sonu Nigam who is said to be a good friend of the late composer has not got over the loss and is recalling his last conversation with Aadesh where the latter referred to him as ‘younger brother’.

Sonu who sang songs like ‘Gum Shuda’ (Chalte Chalte), Bawri Piya Ki (Baabul), ‘Mai Kunwara Aa Gaya’ (Kunwara) that were composed by Aadesh, took to Twitter yesterday and shared a Whatsapp conversation dated July 25.

Aadesh had sent him a smiling selfie from his hospital bed and wrote, “Mere chota bhai, khush raho (my younger brother... be happy)." The 42-year-old singer replied by writing, "Lots of Love Aadesh bhai. Prayers and best wishes. You will get well soon. Jaimataki."

Aadesh was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2010. The disease relapsed and he was admitted in a critical condition at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in early August. He was under treatment for more than a month before he passed away last week.

His last rites were held at the Oshiwara Crematorium in Mumbai on September 5. A prayer meet for him was held at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai on September 8.
