Sonam wants to do papa Anil's movie 'Tezaab'

Actresses today are not far behind from the Actors, and Sonam Kapoor is no different. She is an independent girl and would not essay a character where she is to play second fiddle to the actor. Even though she has not been a fan of the kind of cinemas that were produced in the 80s and 90s, there is one movie that she would love to act in.

The film is her father Anil Kapoor’s and Madhuri Dixit’s, “Tezaab.” Even though filmmakers are busy acquiring the rights of the hit films of that period, Sonam Kapoor is in no mood to do hero-centric films. She would love to play the hero herself. So, if a certain Mr. India were to be remade, Sonam would prefer to call it Ms. India and play the lead.

Her father, Anil Kapoor, was the most talked about actor in the 80s and 90s. He had a string of successful films like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Beta’, ‘Mr. India’ and ‘Lamhe’ etc.

Although none of her films have gained as much success, Sonam Kapoor is positive. She believes that all the roles she has essayed till date have helped her grow as an actor.

Currently, she is caught up with the shoot of her untitled film with Yash Raj Films, where she will be seen opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. At the same time, she is looking forward to the release of her films ‘Raanjhnaa’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. Both of which are slated for release later during this year.

Sonam Kapoor recently spoke about purchasing the rights of Anuja Chauhan’s book, for she feels it is not easy to get a character where a woman has various shades to play. Since she was keen to play such a role, she has acquired the rights for it.

It has also been reported that, Sonam Kapoor will slip in a bikini for her upcoming film, directed by Nupur Asthana. She feels that right now, her body is in a perfect shape to sport the bikini.

Sonam kapoor debuted in the year 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ along with Ranbir Kapoor. She then went on to do films like ‘Delhi 6’, ‘Aisha’, ‘I Hate Love Storys’, ‘Thank You’, ‘Mausam’ and ‘Players’. Though they did not leave quite a mark on the circuit, Sonam Kapoor came to be known as the fashion Diva. Today, she is known more for her fashion icon image than being a Bollywood actress.
