Sonam Kapoor’s grandmother passes away at 89

Sonam Kapoor’s maternal grandmother Draupadi Hingorani Bhambani passed away on Saturday morning. She was 89. A bereaved Sonam shared the sad news on her Instagram page by sharing a childhood photograph of hers with her nani.

“Love you nani, will miss you so much. Thank you for teaching me everything. 23/5/1928 to 29/4/2017 Draupadi/Duru Hingorani Bhambani always in our hearts,” She captioned the picture. The picture has a young Sonam, dressed in a pink attire, sitting on her granny’s lap. The 'Neerja' actress also shared two more recent pictures of them. One has her posing with her granny, and the other has her sister Rhea posing with them.

Rhea, a producer, was also emotional at the demise of her beloved granny. She also took to the photo-blogging site posted an old picture of herself as a young girl with her grandmom. She wrote with the picture, “What a lady, what a legacy. I will always remember you as my spirit and my strength nani. I love you forever. #duru.” Rhea is seen clung close to her nani in the picture.

The sisters definitely look very close to their nani, and her demise has made them nostalgic about the good old day they spent with her. The pictures are adorable and Anil Kapoor’s mom-in-law was very good-looking and graceful herself.

On the work front, Sonam and Rhea are preparing for their next film ‘Veere Di Wedding’, which Rhea will be co-producing with Ekta Kapoor under her banner Balaji Motion Pictures. The film will also star Kareena Kapoor in her first outing after giving birth to her son Taimur, besides Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The chick-flick is ready to roll next month.
