Sonam Kapoor to star opposite Shah Rukh in Anand L. Rai’s next

Sonam Kapoor’s wish to work with superstar Shah Rukh Khan might be finally getting fulfilled. Rumours are rife that she may play the leading lady opposite King Khan in director Anand L. Rai’s

Sonam bagged the Filmfare Award for Critics Choice Best Actress, for her impressive performance in biopic ‘Neerja’. In her nine-year-long career, she has featured opposite several actors, including superstar Salman Khan, but she is yet to work with Shah Rukh.

A few months ago, Sonam stirred a controversy of sorts with her statement that she didn’t get the opportunity to star opposite Shah Rukh because the latter didn’t want to work with her.

“I don’t think Shah Rukh wants to work with me. There have been so many opportunities where I could have worked with him but nothing materialised. I wanted to work with him and I reached out to him as well. But I never got the opportunity. I guess it will happen whenever he feels like working with me,” Sonam had told a publication.

Recently, the actress has been seen bonding with Shah Rukh over social media. She praised his latest flick ‘Raees’ and even told him that she doesn’t sleep all night and that they should meet up soon. This has sparked off rumours that Sonam has bagged a project opposite Shah Rukh, which could be the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ director’s film.

Reportedly, Shah Rukh will be seen in the role of a dwarf in the said film. There have been many contenders for the female lead, from Katrina Kaif to Deepika Padukone. But Sonam, who has worked with Anand L. Rai in ‘Raanjhanaa’, is likely to be finalised for the role.
