Sonam Kapoor shines at ‘Neerja’ success bash

Actress Sonam Kapoor had done a lot of hard-work for her latest release ‘Neerja’, and it has paid off. She played the role of late Pan AM airhostess Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life to save the lives of passengers from hijackers abroad a New York-bound flight in 1986, in the biopic. Her portrayal of the 23-year-old brave-heart has won the hearts of critics and audience.

Sonam, who proved her mettle as an actress, celebrated the success of ‘Neerja’ along with the entire team of the film on Tuesday. The actress first attended the press event where team ‘Neerja’ talked about their movie and its success. After that, it was party time at a Bandra restaurant.

Sonam is rightly called the ‘fashionista of Bollywood’ and turned out in two different looks for both the events. For the press meet, Sonam looked gorgeous in a white and red anarkali suit by Anamika Khanna. For the party look, the ‘Khoobsurat’ actress opted for a blue floor-length flowy dress. She wore black strappy sandals and carried a similar coloured clutch.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who played the role of Sonam’s on-screen mom Rama Bhanot, kept the same look for the press event and success party. The acclaimed artiste stunned in an elegant white lehnga suit with a dash of pink.

The film’s team cherished the success of their movie and felt that ‘Neerja’ should be India’s official entry for the Oscars. Sonam said Neerja was the best movie because of the people involved in it. She, however, expressed her disappointment that the film was banned in Pakistan.

Singer-composer Shekhar Ravjiani, who made his acting debut with ‘Neerja’ also turned up in a pair of denims and a blazer.

Lyricist Prasoon Joshi and co-producer Atul Karbekar also attended the bash.
