Sonam Kapoor: I don’t think Shah Rukh Khan wants to work with me

Actress Sonam Kapoor is known for her straightforward attitude. In her eight-year-long career so far, she has featured opposite several actors, including superstar Salman Khan in the blockbuster 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'. But she is yet to work with another big star Shah Rukh Khan.

While one may that it is sheer fate that Sonam and Shah Rukh couldn’t be paired up for a movie yet, the ‘Neerja’ actress feels otherwise. In an interview to an entertainment portal, Sonam said that she didn’t get the opportunity to star opposite King Khan because the latter didn’t want to work with her.

“I don’t think Shah Rukh wants to work with me. There have been so many opportunities where I could have worked with him but nothing materialised,” Sonam told India.com.

The actress revealed that she did hint about her wish to work with the ‘Dilwale’ actor. Sonam said, “I wanted to work with him and I reached out to him as well. But I never got the opportunity. I guess it will happen whenever he feels like working with me.”

Sonam further added, “What happens in the film industry is that an actor decides whether an actress should do a film with him or not. So, when he (SRK) wants to work with me, it will happen but I don’t think he’s wanted to work with me till now.”

Interestingly, there were reports that Sonam and Alia Bhatt were being considered for the role of one of the leading ladies in Anand L. Rai’s untitled film starring Shah Rukh. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ director was said to have spoken to both the actresses and briefed them about the part. The director had even told that he will announce the final cast soon and it would be something no one had ever expected.

While Alia will be seen alongside Shah Rukh in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’, which is releasing on November 25, only time will tell if Sonam gets to work with the Bollywood Baadshah.
