Sonam Kapoor celebrates her 30th birthday with friends in London

Fashion critics’ delight Sonam Kapoor, who wowed spectators at the Cannes Film Festival held with her sartorial choices, celebrates her 30th birthday today.

Known more as a style diva, the gorgeous lady has no competition when it comes to conquering the style charts in Bollywood.

Born to top-ranking actor Anil Kapoor and former model Sunita Kapoor on June 9, 1985, Sonam is naturally blessed with the genes of stardom.

However, the actress is not celebrating her birthday with her family. She has flown to London for a 10-day vacation with her friends.

According to Sonam, her father is busy as his film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ has just released and her mother is accompanying him. Her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor is also busy with his filming schedule and only her sister Rhea Kapoor is with her in London.

The actress will resume her work on the biopic of Neerja Bhanot, the brave flight attendant who sacrificed her life to save passengers in a terrorist attack, after returning from her holiday. She is also set to appear in Salman Khan starrer ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.

Sonam made her acting debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ in 2007 opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She had earlier assisted the director in his film ‘Black’. The film didn’t do well, but Sonam got noticed for her unique sense of style.

She tasted her first commercial success with ‘I Hate Love Stories’ and was praised for her role in romantic drama ‘Raanjhanaa’. She also did a number of films like ‘Delhi-6’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Khoobsurat’  ‘Dolly Ki Doli’, and others.

It was her 2010 film ‘Aisha’, based on Jane Austen’s novel ‘Emma’ that established her as the ‘Fashionista’ of the industry. The film was produced by her sister Rhea who is also her style adviser.

Sonam is the brand ambassador for international cosmetic brand L’ Oreal.  Due to her ‘fashion icon’ image she regularly features in magazines like ‘Stardust’ and ‘Filmfare’. She has also featured in Indian editions of International fashion Magazines like ‘Vogue’, ‘Maxim’, ‘Grazia’, ‘Femina’, and ‘Harper's Bazaar’.
